 Place: Desert Discovery Center (⁠831 E Barstow Rd, Barstow, CA 92311⁠)

 Description: A rare night under the dark desert sky to view the peak of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower, which can produce up to 50–75 shooting stars per hour.

Attendees gather on the grounds next to the Old Woman Meteorite—the 2nd largest meteorite discovered in the U.S. (weighing 6,070 lbs)! Free admission; bring lawn chairs, blankets, and red-light flashlights for optimal viewing.
